District Information

The Shakori District serves Scouts and Scouters of Orange and Chatham counties, North Carolina. We are a member of the Occoneechee Council, Boy Scouts of America.

The Shakori District Roundtable meets the 1st Monday of every month (except July and August) at 7 p.m. at Orange United Methodist Church, at the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd and Homestead Road in Chapel Hill.

The Shakori District Committee meets the 3rd Monday of every month (except July) at 7 p.m. at North Chapel Hill Baptist Church, off Martin Luther King Road, just south of I-40 at the NC-86 intersection.

Troop 39 Webeleos Event

Troop 39 would like to extend a welcome to you and your Webelo scouts (1s and 2s) to join the troop at the American Legion on Saturday December 20 at 9am to meet the troop and work on one of two Webelo badges:

Readyman and Outdoorsman.

Troop 59 Webelos visitations

Greetings,

Troop 59 would like to extend an invitation for Web II dens in the Shakori District to come and visit one of our Troop meeting during the months of November, December or January. We meet on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30 p.m. at the North Chapel Hill Baptist Church near the intersection of Airport Road and I-40 across from the Chapel Hill North shopping center.

Troop 505 Webelos event

Troop 505 is having two "get to know" events for Webelos interested in Boy Scouting. See below for more information.

1st Annual ‘Survivor Games’

Come and meet the Scouts in Troop 505 as we engage in our ‘1st Annual Survivor Games’. From 2 until 6 pm, the Webelos are invited to participate with us in learning and demonstrating some important wilderness survival skills in fun & safe team competitions. Then you’re welcome to camp with us that night, and break camp the next morning.

2015 Recharter Presentation

All, please see the attached presentation on the rechartering process for 2015. Rechartering is one of the most important administrative processes in the scouting year. Please see your unit commissioner for any questions.

November Roundtable & BBQ

Time: Gathering at 6:30pm, General Session at 7pm
Where: Orange United Methodist Church 1220 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill Directions

Please RSVP so we can plan the for the amount of food. A Scout is thrifty.

The focus of this meeting will be rechartering. There will also be merit badge training from 6-7pm.

T505 Webelos activity

Attn Webelos Den Leaders,

Come out and meet the boys in Troop 505 as we play some DISC GOLF and CAPTURE THE FLAG! Afterwards, you will cook and eat supper together. Boys and their parents are invited to learn about what our troop has planned for the upcoming months, how our troop works, and meet the boy and adult leaders.

Saturday, October 18, 3-7pm

We will play disc golf at the UNC course and then drive a short distance to a picnic shelter at Umstead Park in Chapel Hill.
